Gravel driveway installation across Yorkshire
Yorkshire has stone-built terraces, back-to-backs, 1930s semis and large modern estates. Gravel is one of the most affordable and practical driveway surfaces in the UK. It drains freely, so in England a gravel front driveway does not normally need planning permission whatever its size, it suits both period and modern homes, and it is quick to lay and easy to top up. What makes the difference between a gravel drive that lasts and one that ruts, spreads and grows weeds is what goes underneath it.

Our services
New gravel driveways
Full installation from scratch: excavation, compacted MOT Type 1 sub-base, geotextile membrane, edging and decorative or angular gravel laid to the correct depth.
Gravel grid driveways
Plastic stabilising grids laid over the sub-base and filled with gravel, stopping stones migrating, preventing ruts and making the drive easier to walk, cycle and push buggies on.
Driveway replacement and conversion
Old tarmac, concrete, cracked paving or lawn dug out and replaced with a permeable gravel drive, with all waste removed.
Edging, kerbs and borders
Block, brick, concrete, steel or timber edging that holds the gravel in place and gives clean lines next to lawns, beds and paths.
Drainage and soakaways
Channel drains, gullies and soakaways where the ground is heavy clay or the drive falls towards the house, so water drains away properly.
Re-gravelling and repairs
Tired, thin or weedy gravel drives refreshed with a top-up or a full re-lay, with new membrane and grids if the base has failed.
